Description:
Volt is currently working with an Investment Management firm located in Marlborough, MA. This private, client-driven company is dedicated to doing one thing well- managing the assets of institutions around the world. In order to meet the needs of their clients, this firm needs a strong leader in the Desktop Engineering field to manage the client technology engineering team. The Manager of the Client Technology Engineering team must have outstanding project management skills, a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise, and strong people management skills. This position requires a strong Engineering background along with strengths in the following areas: Methodology, Strategic Planning, Design, experience managing large Technology Projects in a Desktop Engineering environment. The person in this role must be adept at gathering business requirements as they relate to emerging technology needs, formulating teams to evaluate products, conducting pilots with a goal of providing quantitative feedback and assessments, and managing product rollouts to the firm.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline OR a minimum of 5 years experience in management and 10 years overall experience in the Information Technology field (specifically Desktop Engineering) Demonstrated technical, analytical, diagnostic skills when resolving IT related issues required to support business needs. Candidates must possess the ability to think strategically. History of successfully managing project implementations such as product implementations and upgrades Desktop support experience in a number of Windows operating system environments Desktop build experience using Ghost or similar imaging tools Desktop deployment experience using images Software deployment experience using Marimba or other automated tool Strong oral and written communication skills Strong leadership skills Strong understanding of system technology as it relates to the desktop STRONG knowledge of Microsoft Desktop technologies including Windows, Outlook, Exchange, Microsoft Office, Group Policy, and Active Directory. Strong applications knowledge Experience with Remote Management tools Strong knowledge of wireless technologies and networking MS certifications (preferred) "Volt is an Equal Opportunity Employer"
