The Business Intelligence Support team supports Business Objects, Crystal Reports and Focus as enterprise decision support reporting solutions.  The team also provides administrative support for Hyperion Essbase.  As manager of this team, you will provide direction for team members on projects and help define the overall direction for the use of business intelligence at Kroger.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

·         Manage project and support activities of team.

·         Provide project estimates or work with team members to help them develop accurate project estimates.

·         Interact with other IS&S teams and business units to advocate when and where BI should be used.

·         Work with team members to create individual development plans to help them maximize their potential.

·         Work with team members to develop individual MBOs, review and update those MBOs once a quarter and conduct annual performance reviews.

·         Assist in setting annual budget for team and manage budget throughout the year.

·         Keep current on overall direction of BI industry with particular attention to vendors utilized at Kroger.

·         Partner with Enterprise Data and Architecture teams to continually update the Business Intelligence strategy and work towards implementation.

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

·         Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including customer service skills.

·         Prior experience in managing people, including setting objectives and performance management.

·         Five or more years experience with reporting tools such as Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or Cognos in a development or management role.

·         Willingness and ability to keep current on technology trends.

·         Understanding of database and Data Warehouse related concepts such as: star schemas, inner and outer joins, etc.

·         Hands on experience in developing report and universes with Business Objects a plus.

·         Prior experience with Crystal Reports, FOCUS or Hyperion Essbase a plus.

·         Working knowledge of project methodologies a plus.

·         Bachelor Degree in a computer related field or relevant job experience.
