A Manufacturing Company located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has an opportunity for a Manager of Accounting who will handle the following responsibilities:

- Get involved with all aspects of corporate benefit plan accounting including coordinating the pension, post retirement and post employment benefits for several US and Canadian businesses

- Prepare financial statements for certain benefit plans, and coordinate the benefit plan audits with the external auditors

- Involved in the month end close

- Account analysis and account reconciliations at the corporate office as well as overseeing account activity at the business unit level

- Coordinate with the actuaries to develop budget and actual amounts by business unit and adopt new accounting pronouncements as required by US GAAP and IFRS

- Provide corporate oversight of other long-term liabilities including significant legal and environmental reserves

- Coordinate the pension, post retirement and post employment benefits accounting process for US and Canadian businesses

- Inform management of new accounting developments resulting from changes in either pension and benefits policy or changes to external requirements, determine financial impact and recommends a course of action

- Coordinate, produce and update company policy and procedural manual as necessary

Qualified Candidates will possess:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus

- 3+ years of related experience

- Excellent Microsoft Office application skills

- Experience in software and database management with a professional service firm

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Proven management and leadership skills
