Manager, Automation Engineering

Responsibilities of this position include managing the Automation Engineering department, which provides project engineering development and business critical support for the automation, instrumentation, and manufacturing execution system components of the manufacturing process; overseeing the writing of application specific software for control equipment and manufacturing execution systems; ensuring strategic development and maintenance of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) applications and control equipment, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), instrumentation and sensors, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems, and systems which upload/download information to/from SAP and lot tracking.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this position candidates must have:  a BS degree in Engineering with 10 years experience in an industrial environment; supervisor experience; experience maintaining plant automation systems, related instrumentation, and electronic systems; experience planning, organizing, and managing multiple projects and programs independently; must be proficient in computer skills and applicable software; possess competent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.  Experience in a tobacco and/or union environment is preferred.
