Ernst & Young's Financial Services Office (FSO) is a unique, industry-focused business unit that provides a broad suite of integrated services that leverage deep industry experience along with strong functional capability and product knowledge within the framework of a global business. The FSO's Risk Advisory Services (RAS) unit is a specialty practice that provides integrated advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers (traditional and alternative), insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations. The RAS team includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams build skills which are both broad and deep while working on diverse projects with a sophisticated client base.
Responsibilities:
The Accounting / Finance Manager will participate in client business relationship development, opportunity and sales generation, managing people and projects, product development, team development, and service delivery. The successful candidate will be a self starter who is highly motivated to develop business relationships with target clients and transform relationships and other opportunities into successful advisory service projects. They will actively lead and oversee service delivery teams as well as provide hands on involvement to provide outstanding quality service to our clients.
The Accounting/ Finance Manager will work directly with clients in corporate accounting, business unit finance, product control, management reporting, external and regulatory reporting, to provide solutions to clients' business, process, and technology issues.
Requirements:
To sell and deliver these comprehensive services, we are looking for individuals with:
A minimum of 5 years of experience working with a Big Four Accounting Firm in a financial services audit or advisory role. This may include accounting and auditing experiences related to: commercial banking, retail banking, mortgage banking, retail brokerage, institutional sales and trading, or investment management.
Business knowledge and experience in areas such as: business unit finance, corporate accounting, management reporting, external and regulatory reporting.
Desire to use these audit and accounting knowledge and skills in an advisory capacity.
Ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including rules, regulations, and industry practices.
Ability to call upon clients, define their needs and respond with relevant products and services.
Flexibility, initiative, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, and sound professional judgment.
A desire to identify opportunities and participate in the sales of advisory services.
A desire to manage and supervise teams and manage complex projects.
Strong communication, presentation, technical writing skill and interpersonal skills.
PC proficiency, including MS Office.
A bachelor's degree in accounting.
An MBA or master's degree in finance, accounting, or economics is a plus.
Ability to travel approximately 40% is expected.
