Position Summary

Under close supervision of the Warehouse Manager or other supervisory/management-level position, performs internal and external housekeeping and janitorial duties in order to maintain a clean and orderly working environment in the Distribution Center. Performs routine facility maintenance and is involved in building safety and security inspections.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Daily janitorial responsibilities in office and warehouse areas. Removes trash from receptacles located through the facility. Picks up and disposes of trash outside on company property. Performs tote cleaning and sanitizing. May perform exterior landscape maintenance, including lawn mowing, edging, trimming and watering schedule. Maintains warehouse floors, including application of sealers and cleaners. Responsible for weekly warehouse floor scrubbing and maintenance program. Performs common office and warehouse maintenance, including light fixtures, doors, locks and minor painting. Performs building safety and security inspections including assigned OSHA inspections. Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures and safety rules. Must be willing to participate in physical inventory as scheduled. May be required to drive to and from the location for reasons such as picking up mail in another facility. Performs related duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements

Requires completion of a high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires less than one (1) year of equivalent work experience. Requires a valid driver's license if required to drive on company business.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

Ability to read and understand the English language for the purpose of following instructions. Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Ability to use good judgment in order to carry out detailed instructions. Ability to work independently. Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
