Responsible for performing US Army helicopter test flights in order to determine airworthiness. Responsible for the safe execution and conduct of all Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs) and test flights after aircraft overhaul, modifications or after maintenance performed as per TM 1-1500-328-23 and pertinent aircraft technical manual. Perform duties in support of RDT&E for the AH-64A and AH-64D. Be qualified to perform full flying duties to include cross country flights, EMI/EMC testing, and night system operations. Duties will include ground and flight testing with other pilots on a routine basis with emphasis on systems operation and data collection. Be proficient in all required flight planning to safely execute cross country ferry flights on a routine basis. Perform additional pilot support for other mission, design, and series aircraft as required. Must possess a complete knowledge of the principles of US Army aviation maintenance and maintenance test flight operations. Must have an in-depth understanding of aircraft electrical, avionics, hydraulic, airframe, power train, rotor, and turbine engine systems. Position requires a flexible schedule and will require extensive TDY travel. Basic Requirement: Must be a graduate of the Fort Rucker Aviation Maintenance Officers Course by completing Phase I (AMOC) and Phase II (MTP Course) AH1G/S/F, UH-1H, AH-64A, and AH64D. Must possess a minimum of 2000 Pilot in Command (PC) hours to include 1000 hours flying MDS. Must possess current commercial FAA certificate or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating. Must possess current FAA or U.S. Army Class II flight physical. Must provide training records, pilot logbook, and/or equivalents that reveal Qualification 'Q' Course completion and grade slips or documents initiated by flight examiners that reveal flight proficiency with durations and accumulated flight hours. Must maintain proficiency and be able to pass no-notice, scheduled oral, and flight evaluations as determined by a Government Flight Representative (GFR) as per AR 95-20. Preferences: High school graduate and college preferred. Twenty years within the US Army Aviation Maintenance field is highly desirable. Experience and documentation as a Maintenance Examiner (ME) is a plus. RESPOND HERE!
