We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor who will become an integral part of the Elyria maintenance support group. You will be responsible for leading activities to maintain plant equipment, assure plant equipment reliability, modify/improve existing facilities, support capital projects including major expansion, and provide corporate maintenance know-how support. Demonstrate EHS leadership in plant maintenance activities. Lead the maintenance organization along the EHS Journey to Excellence. Comply with BASF policies, procedures and guidelines for EHS excellence. Lead, direct, and manage personnel and activities related to the maintenance of chemical processing equipment, utility systems, facilities and buildings, and other property. Develop expense budgets for the maintenance function and operate within the approved budgets while maintaining plant reliability. Typical annual budget is $2.5MM to $3.5MM. Utilize the Maintenance Improvement Process (MPI) to move the plant toward the long-term goal of Reliability-Centered-Maintenance. Support and implement equipment reliability plans developed in coordination with plant reliability engineer. Supervise Maintenance Planner, Storeroom personnel, Mechanics and Electricians and contractors. Establish, maintain and upgrade proficiency requirements for dual classification maintenance employees. Facilitate training and development of maintenance department skills. Develop and update a long-term facility plan that assures adequate infrastructure for forecasted business demand. Lead departmental activities focused on productivity, efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness in support of the Goal 100 initiative. Benchmark against other BASF locations to identify opportunities to improve local maintenance performance. Implement maintenance Best Practices as identified at other BASF locations. Collaborate with peer at the Erie, PA site to ensure implementation of common approaches and improvements. Actively participate in the North American "Communities of Practice." BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or appropriate related technical discipline. 8 to 10 years experience in maintenance or engineering in a manufacturing environment. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Note: This job is part of a job family. The hiring manager will place the successful candidate in a level appropriate for their experience and demonstrated competencies. Experience in reliability-centered maintenance tools (MTBR, RFCA, RBI, etc.) and implementation. Must have effective leadership and interpersonal skills and supervisory experience. Experience in establishing, maintaining and upgrading proficiency requirements for dual classification maintenance employees is preferred. Experience in PSM, RMP, and Responsible Care. Experience with a CMMS, SAP preferred.
Experience in working within a collective bargaining agreement is preferred
