Maintenance Engineer Summary of Job Duties:Maintenance Engineers are responsible for implementation of various maintenance programs; problem identification followed by investigation, evaluation, and resolution; evaluating and implementing industry operating experience; and providing general engineering and technical support to the  maintenance  teams as needed.The Maintenance Engineers provide support though monitoring of plant equipment and resolution of day-to-day problems during work activities.  Their responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following activities: Develop and apply predictive maintenance technologies to preempt equipment failures. Lead emergent issue resolution. Act as first responders and lead troubleshooting on abnormal operating equipment. Provide technical oversight for major equipment overhauls. Coordinate with equipment vendors for proper product supply or services. Assist with development, implementation, and improvement of PM Technical Bases. Ensure cost benefit analysis balanced against PM effectiveness. Develop vendor specifications for equipment overhauls and monitor quality of onsite services. Act as a project manager. Resolve engineering problems encountered by Craft during day-to-day work activities. Coordinate with System Engineering and off-site Engineering to resolve equipment problems that are the result of  design issues. Solve equipment problems through evaluations and modifications.  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:A civil, mechanical or electrical engineering degree or PE is required. An ability to solve problems and make sound engineering decisions, based on experience and appropriate industry practices, in order to make timely decisions which might impact plant safety and reliability.  Behavioral Attributes:Accepts ownership of assigned programs, projects and tasks.
