MAINE CATHOLIC SCHOOLS DIOCESE OF PORTLAND PRINCIPALS: TWO POSITIONS Two Catholic Pre-K through 8 elementary schools are each seeking a principal available for the start of the 2008-2009 school year. Holy Cross Catholic School in South Portland, serves 242 students from the Greater Portland area. St. Michael School in Augusta is a recently consolidated school serves 357 students in the Central Maine area. The recent appointment of the Holy Cross principal as the campus minister at St. Dominic's R.H.S., and the retirement of the principal of St. Michael have created these openings. Both schools seek a dynamic educational leader who will demonstrate: a commitment to the K through 8 educational model, a strong commitment to the success of all students; strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills; can work as part of a team; knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices and assessment; successful administrative and supervisory skills; experience in working with boards, budget development; long-range planning and implementation; possesses an ability to foster a caring and respectful learning environment that reflects the school's vision and mission. Family oriented individual who understands and can deal with today's family dynamics. Requirements: must be a practicing Catholic who holds a current Maine Certificate of Education or is eligible for certification. Preference will be given to candidates with Catholic School experience.
