  LPN (Practical Nurse) - Ambulatory Care - North Chicago, IL    Job Details   Company: Veterans Affairs     Job ID: 1270313     Location: North Chicago, Waukegan, IL    Job Description   As a member of the Patient Care/Primary Care Team, the Licensed Practical Nurse will work in conjunction with a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to an ambulatory clinic population. This is primarily a Monday – Friday position, but there can be some weekend and evening responsibilities required. The LPN will be working with a team healthcare professionals in support of primary care and specialty clinics. He/She will be responsible for all aspects of nursing care provided in the clinic including vital sign assessment, preventive health screening activities, screening telephone calls, administering medications and performing diagnostic treatment procedures. Requires: • 4 years of Medical/Surgical/Psychiatric experience • Good interpersonal relations and teaching skills • Ability to organize and prioritize workload • Become proficient in EKG, and other diagnostic treatment procedure as required. • Must be self-directed and able to function independently • Dependable in meeting time frames and professional responsibilities • U. S citizenship • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. • Must meet physical standards for the position • Applicants must pass a pre-employment medical examination which includes the possibility of a drug screen       Salary Range: NA     Salary Notes: Federal benefits package       Reference job announcement number FY08-#1LPN Application deadline: Wednesday, December 03, 2008
