Description: LMSI - Owego is currently engaged in performance on a contract to design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy the next generation Presidential Transport Helicopter solution (VH-71). One of the most important elements of the program is to provide a sound, reliable, dependable support solution that addresses every element of the Presidential aircraft. It also requires we leveraging the existing support infrastructure provided by US Navy and the US Marine Corp.

This opportunity is for a Maintainability Engineer to support design, development, integration/test, deployment, and sustainment of a support system for the VH-71 program. This responsibility includes: 1) Logistics Support Analysis for ensuring availability of the aircraft to perform its mission throughout its life cycle; 2) Coordination with international partners and US Marine Corp users to develop optimized tech data and support tools; 3) Support of the design and upkeep for flight test activities; 4) Support to the project leads in planning and cost & schedule tracking in an integrated product team environment.

Location of activities will be centrally focused at LMSI in Owego, NY with international and domestic travel opportunities. Candidate would benefit from knowledge of the DoD supportability process as well as an understanding of the reliability / maintainability engineering processes related to supportability analysis. The position requires the ability to clearly and concisely document very technical information and procedures in support of the Presidential transport mission. Must have the capacity to effectively manage project deadlines. Experience in creating procedures for US military aircraft using ArborText or similar XML authoring software is helpful. An understanding of document tagging software and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) structures, design, and how an IETM is developed from a database of technical information is helpful. The candidate must have the ability to effectively interact with customers, Marine Corp Presidential aircrew members, management, and corporate partners. Qualifications: Electrical and mechanical installation, interpretation of engineering drawings. Knowledge of technical writing, budgeting, scheduling.
