Position Summary:
The Logic Design Engineer will create, enhance, and verify FPGA and ASIC/SoC based digital logic designs for processors, protocols, sequencers and interfaces. The successful candidate must be able to integrate and validate designs in a complex processor-based digital/mixed-signal system. The position is also responsible for directing the physical design of high density and high-performance digital and mixed-signal ASICs including the development and implementation of strategies for timing closure and design verification using stat-of-the-art tools. Experience working with physical design out-sourcing is a must.
This position is for a very seasoned and competent engineer who will take a leadership role in the development process.
THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A US GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Create, Enhance, and Verify FPGA and ASIC/SoC based digital logic designs for processors, protocols, sequencers and interfaces Integrate and validate designs in a complex multi-processor digital mixed-signal systemDirect physical design of ASICs, perform Timing closure and circuit simulation, device evaluation, and characterizationDocument specifications, prototype construction and checkoutPerform developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagramsPlan and organize design projects or phases of design projectsRespond to customer and/or client requests
Required Skills:
7 years FPGA and ASIC/SoC design experience7 years extensive HDL (Verilog or VHDL) and simulation tool experienceAbility to accurately assess project status and identify and resolve problemsBSEE or equivalent in a related fieldStrong knowledge of processor architecture and micro architecture Experience with Verilog (and VHDL) RTL coding Experience with embedded software development and debug tools Strong experience with scripting languages5+ years system debug experience including logic, embedded software, mixed-signal elementsExperience with RTL modeling, RTL debug, and logic verificationStrong fundamental understanding of modeling, simulation and verification methodologies and/or tools Some travel required
