Mid-State Technical College, located in central Wisconsin, offers associate degrees, technical diplomas, and certificates in more than 45 careers, as well as personal enrichment classes and contracted business services.

 

We are currently seeking a Library Services Manager at Mid-State Technical College - Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.  Position is located at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus, but has District-wide responsibilities.  This is a full-time, full-year management position.  Position reports to the Director of College Advancement.  Start date – Immediately.

 

Position Description:

The Library Services Manager has college-wide responsibility over three campus libraries for the management of print, audio, visual, and electronic learning resources.  Responsibilities include technology vision and implementation; creation of virtual library services; learning services and materials acquisition and maintenance; development and delivery of instructional library services; planning, budgeting, and staffing; facility and equipment management; internal and external communication and collaboration; and supervision of the Wisconsin Rapids library staff.

 

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or a related degree from an ALA accredited program.  Prior library management experience including staff supervision required, preferably in an educational, union environment.  One year of occupational experience in a non-educational setting.  Enthusiastic champion of library and information services.  Knowledge and experience with automated library systems (such as Voyager), electronic databases, and a demonstrated interest in new and emerging technologies.  Knowledge of and skill in Library of Congress subject headings and cataloging.  Budget preparation and management experience.  Must embrace MSTC’s “core values” of student centeredness, commitment, accountability, respect, integrity, and exceptional service.
