LEGAL SPECIALIST – CORPORATE RECORDS MANAGER
Tyco Electronics is seeking a Corporate Records Manager to assist in the administration of the Corporate Records Management Program. This position is based in Middletown, PA.
Responsibilities:
> Maintaining policy directives and standard operating procedures as required for creation, storage, retrieval, protection, preservation, and destruction of corporate records.
> Coordinating with organizational units regarding compliance with retention policies and schedules.
> Working with the IT, Law and Tax Departments to issue and release legal holds.
> Overseeing corporate education of Records Management Program by developing training programs on record retention and other records management topics and communicating to business units in the company.
> Coordinating the identification of records (onsite and offsite) and tracking the location of records removed from storage.
> Managing the Program Change Control processes, including preparation of reports for Program recommendations.
> Managing Program maintenance activities, meetings with organizational units, update of legal research, addition of new functions caused by acquisitions, etc.
In addition to main duties of Corporate Records Manager, this associate will also serve as Tyco's Electronic Communications Monitor (ECM). Utilizing vendor software which monitors all IP traffic, the ECM will review suspicious network traffic and flagged materials predefined by Tyco as inappropriate. Specific responsibilities include:
> Overseeing internal Use of Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), Compliance & Rules initiatives.
> Working with Law Department to define and document the IT misuse categories that TE determines as significant.
> Utilize data results to create logical assumptions, case opportunities and potential investigations. > Develop reporting formats and structures to support the Law and Human Resource Departments' investigations.
> Analyze data for trend and risk opportunities.
> Liaison and manage relationship with vendor (Vericept).
> Working with IT, Law Departments to drive corporate privacy initiative. > Building strong internal experience for multi-department needs
> Understanding Corporate Hierarchy.
Qualifications for Corporate Records Manager:
> Bachelor's Degree and/or specialized course instruction in records management, business law, administrative management and computer technology.
> Experience with records management concepts and operations, and recordkeeping requirements for compliance, litigation support, risk assessment, and intellectual property issues.
> Must have the ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
> Effective written and verbal communication skills required with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
