The firm focuses its practice on Employment and Employee Benefits (ERISA) issues, including: sexual harassment and discrimination; pension and health benefits; long- and short-term disability insurance; unemployment compensation; unpaid wages and overtime; Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA); and whistleblower claims. The firm is experienced in negotiating and enforcing executive employment contracts.

SFD&P is seeking a Legal Secretary to:

* Transcribing letters from dictation in addition to fixing formatting, proofreading, editing, copying, mailing and/or emailing/faxing correspondence; and preparing court filings.

* Assist attorneys by reading, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; organizing client conferences, and attorney meetings; scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions; and coordinating preparation of pleading and deposition exhibits.

* Maintain attorneys' calendars by planning and scheduling meeting, phone calls and travel arrangements; recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements; monitoring evidence-gathering; and anticipating changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements.

* Welcomes guests and clients by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or directing inquiries.

* Represents attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney.

* Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential.

* Must demonstrate strong organizational skills.
