Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel is responsible for providing day to day legal support to all functional units of the Company, including commercial and defense business units, operations, finance, human resources and corporate. The position reports directly to the General Counsel and has some legal staff supervisory responsibilities. This individual must have extensive transactional experience, with some international experience preferred. In addition, this individual must have strong regulatory experience, including practical experience with all aspects of administrative law, and must have a solid background in employment law, and corporate and securities law. Proven personnel management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Essential Job Functions:

Drafts, negotiates and provides legal support to commercial business units for all transactions.Interpret requests for proposals, develop contract positions, and articulate the positions with supporting documentation to management. Provide guidance/training on contractual forms and procedures.Oversees regulatory compliance with a variety of agencies including NOAA, Dept. of State, FCC and other.Supports drafting and negotiation of credit agreements and other financing documents.Supports all activities relating to compliance with applicable Delaware/Colorado corporate law and applicable securities laws. Provides primary support to human resources in all aspects of employment practices.Provides such other support as requested by the General Counsel.

Requirements:

Qualifications/ Requirements Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school.Admitted in Colorado or eligible for admission.4-7 years of experience, with some in-house experience required and large law firm experience preferred. Extensive transactional experience, and broad based practical experience in administrative law, employment law, corporate and securities law.Excellent customer relations and negotiating skills. Proven ability to manage and work on a team. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
