GTSI Corp. has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant to support our Corporate Legal Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with government contract issues, securities filings, litigation, and other corporate legal department matters, and support systems.
- Lead cross-functional teams to gather information on matters such as government protests, subpoena responses, document productions, etc.
- Work with outside counsel in management of litigation projects, to include organizing subpoena responses.
- Review and manage legal documents. Draft correspondence for attorney review.
- Maintain and update information relating to the corporate books of GTSI and its subsidiaries.
- Complete internet and legal research relating to corporate issues, government contract statutes and regulations, employment law and cases, etc.
- Manage company?s IP portfolio. Prepare trademark applications and renewal filings.
- Prepare FOIA requests on behalf of internal clients. Respond to FOIA requests received by government agencies.
- Organize and monitor attorney workload.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified candidate will have a bachelor?s degree, and at least (3) years of relevant professional experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience working in a legal or government contracting environment.
- An understanding of government contracts is preferred, but not required.
- Paralegal Certificate a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with FAR, FOIA, Trademarks, and Immigration a plus.
- Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). A familiarity with Access and SharePoint is a plus.
- Must have the ability to analyze and follow complex instructions, multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail; ability to effectively organize and manage business procedures for a department; excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Open to training and growth opportunities; ability to work effectively with vendor partners and offices of outside counsel and internal personnel.
- Must have high-energy work ethic and be able to work non-standard hours during peak season times.
