Fully funded, early-stage startup building a mainstream consumer hardware device (think Amazon's Kindle) that will include software running on the device itself and will connect wirelessly to their remote sever where multiple applications will reside and communicate with the device, including the handling of eCommerce transactions. Another example of this would be Tivo. Just examples, not saying their product will compete with either of these companies/products.

Company is fully funded by a single investor with very deep pockets -- an incredibly successful CEO and serial entreprenuer of a local company here in the Boston area. Company has dedicated funding through product shipment, so they can focus on building their product and not have to worry about raising any venture capital in order to complete the product. 1st scheduled release is targeted for some time in Q1 of '09.

We are working directly with the Vice President of Software Development. Company is about 6 months old with about 15 full-time people (mostly developers) working there. In total, they have about 50 people working on the project, but only about 15 of those people are full-time employees.

Company is currently building out their Web Applications team and looking for at least *2 Software Engineers*, one *Mid to Senior level Software Engineer* and one *Lead Software Engineer* (hands-on Architect) with team leadership experience (not necessarily management, but demonstration of real leadership in a technical position)

- people who have built robust systems from scratch, not just contributed features to large projects.
- mastery of breadth of contemporary web technologies sufficient to make the right decisions for us, meaning technologies like Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, not just enterprise Java/C++.
- ideally experience in a consumer web site, not just internal-facing IT applications, which are a different ballgame altogether in terms of experience and largely different in terms of technology decisions.
- startup cultural fit.

Location: Boston, MA.

Compensation will be HIGHLY competitive for both roles, especially for the Lead (up to 130k or so for a super star). Package will also include early stage equity in the form of Stock Appreciation Rights (SARs). And because this company is funded by the CEO of a brand name company they also offer top of the line benefits like 401k matching and outstanding medical/dental benefits. For the right candidate(s) they will even consider some telecommuting, maybe 1 day/wk or something.
