Our Information Technology department is looking to expand our Architecture and Systems Management team by adding an Infrastructure Architect. This talented professional will be accountable for assisting in the analysis and design of the enterprise infrastructure architecture to meet the technical and business requirements. This includes assessment of new products and methods, developing and implementing appropriate IT Infrastructure practices across multiple operating systems and hardware platforms. The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization on infrastructure architecture is critical. · Provide technical expertise to peers and associates on the overall infrastructure architecture as it relates to the IT and business strategies · Assist in insuring that the infrastructure aligns with the overall enterprise architecture goals. · Serve as the infrastructure architect technical lead in the assessment, analysis, and design phases of the IT related projects. · Working with the other IT groups and maintaining an infrastructure roadmap that provides reduced overall complexity and increased cost efficiency. This roadmap should allow for the re-usability and adaptability of our infrastructure. · Provide leadership and direction through technical subject matter expertise.· Assist in developing and maintaining the Infrastructure strategies that result in efficient and effective use of our Infrastructure information technology products and services · Coach and mentor peers and associates in the area of Infrastructure architecture. · Document the Infrastructure architecture environment and procedures to insure our infrastructure remains cost effective, efficient, and of high quality. · Maintain expertise in the area of architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that Schneider National assets are effectively and efficiently utilized. · Provide technical IT expertise to, and assist in, the selection of new hardware and software platforms which assists in attaining the enterprise architecture goals. · Off hours/on call support as required. **Ideally looking for an experienced architect with OTM (Oracle Transportation Management). ** "Quest" is the name we've given to our Enterprise Business Transformation (ERP implemetation) with Oracle.

Qualifications:

1. A four year degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent work experience. 2. Excellent project management skills are required. 3. Minimum of 5-8 years related experience with emphasis in infrastructure (OS/390, Windows, Web Services, UNIX, JAVA architecture, security). 4. Strong communications skills both oral and written. Must be able to effectively communicate at different levels of the organization. 5. Ability to work well with multiple teams, including internal and external departments and organizations. 6. Experience working with and on virtual, cross-functional teams. 7. Working knowledge of Windows, Unix, S/390, Networking, Servers, security, desktop, Java, and Linux environments.
