Volt is currently working with an international leader in the manufacture of a diverse range of products from advanced turbochargers and power generation to a leading provider of diesel engines and components. This well established $9.9 Billion company is currently experiencing rapid growth creating the need for Lead Engineers in their Power Generation and Switchgear Divisions. Both positions outlined below will be housed in the companies Fridley, Minnesota location. This global manufacturer offers outstanding benefits, including relocation and competitive salary, including bonus potential. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT LEAD (SWITCHGEAR). This position will have a key impact on quality in the area of material flow, cycle time, and production. The successful candidate MUST HAVE experience in the manufacture/engineering of Switchgear. This will be a hands-on position acting as a liaison between engineering, shop floor, material control and QA. Responsibilities will also include developing standards with engineering and reducing errors; look for root cause fixes and drive continuous improvement of Quality systems between Engineering and the shop floor and plan, coordinate and implement product change and new product introduction initiatives within Materials and Engineering to ensure smooth shop floor introduction The successful candidate will have 4-6 years experience engineering switchgear or manufacturing operations; BSME/BSEE Degree; Leadership and Coaching experience; Business Process Understanding and have a working knowledge of lean manufacturing processes. Knowledge of quality processes is also a plus. SUPERVISOR TECHNICAL SERVICES (GENERATOR TECHNOLOGY) This position will lead the Technical Services group and will have extensive customer contact. The successful candidate will have responsibility for resolution of customer issues; assist customers with proper generator selection and application support; review and evaluate customer specifications; conduct application reviews and training at OEM's and lead initiatives to improve quality of product. Must have a technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, Masters Degree is preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in service, test or repair of rotating electrical machines or generator sets. Experience in negotiating/mediating service disputes and managing corrective action; willingness to be on call outside of office hours Position requires 25%-30% travel outside of the US mostly within North, South and Central America. .
