Fantastic Direct Hire Opportunity with growing international organization! In this Direct Hire position, your responsibilities will include: the layout portions or all of a customer contract using Computer Aided Design (CAD). May work with the Project Engineer to ensure contract requirements are met for the engineering phase of the design. Works under the supervision of a Senior Designer or a Sales Engineer if assisting the sales team on a proposal. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receives assignments from Chief Draftsman to prepare layouts, and is assigned by the Chief Draftsman to work under the supervision of a Senior Designer who will provide direction in the preparation of the layout drawings, calculations, bills of material, etc. Review assemblies and specifications to determine requirements of the project. May direct and supervise the work of Detailer to ensure completion of the project according to the contract schedule. Prepare layout drawing, write requisitions and bills of material. May work directly with Designer or Senior Designer to produce drawings of parts, components and assemblies from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images. Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from Designer or Senior Designer. Make computations of lengths, areas, volumes and weights. Reviews layouts to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. This position offers a competitive salary and benefit package and is looking for local candidates only at this time. Requirements:
Successful candidates must have the following Education and Experience: Associates degree or a degree from a recognized CAD training facility. 2 - 4 years experience in drawing/designing and supervision in drawing/design. Experience with drafting and design of large structural steel industries - REQUIRED Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to read, interpret, and use required standards and customer-supplied documentation. Must be able to effectively read and understand blue prints. Able to work with some supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced. Able to receive and transmit drawings electronically into a customer CAD software. Knowledge of steel and/or furnace industry. Computer literate in CAD and Microsoft Office. Must be a self-starter and able to contribute in design reviews. Must be available to work mandatory overtime on an ongoing basis ( 1 - 2 years) The average work week is 50-55 hours.
