The Lawyering Skills Center Administrative Assistant will provide front desk coverage and handle student inquiries and requests for all Lawyering Skills Center programs in addition to inquiries from the general student body. The Administrative Assistant will provide general office support for all programs and Faculty. This position is supervised by the Administrator of Lawyering. Responsibilities will include Answering telephones and provide information about the department?s programs to students, faculty, staff and the outside community. Scan, photocopy, prepare and distribute handouts and materials for LSC courses. Troubleshoot/oversee maintenance of copier and other office equipment. Assist in the coordination and administration of all course/clinic simulations. Provide support for department administrators during busy periods which can include but is not limited to photocopying, scanning and editing. Assist the administrator of Lawyering Skills and Lawyering Program. Communicate with internal departments regarding scheduling and reserving all Lawyering Skills Center rooms. Schedule rooms for all Lawyering Skills Center?s programs and activities. Create schedule, handle and oversee audio visual requests for the LSC department and submit to the Audio Visual Department. Act as department liaison to the Audio Visual Department. Prepare, distribute and maintain the Lawyering Skills Center calendar and teaching schedules. Maintain inventory and order supplies for the Lawyering Skills Center staff, faculty and clinic students/office. Copy newspapers, periodical articles and any other copy requests for Lawyering Skills Center Faculty. Assist with various office related projects, as assigned. Collect/distribute LSC course information, materials and assignments.Bachelor?s degree preferred. Experience in administrative, secretarial position or equivalent. Familiarity with an academic environment is helpful. Excellent computer skills (MS Word, WordPerfect and Excel) with the ability to become proficient with new software. The ability to multi-task and work as a team member. The ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline driven environment. Extremely organized and detail oriented. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. The individual must be customer service focused consistent with frequent interaction with the community.
