We are currently have an opportunity for an entry level Laboratory Assistant.

 

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of Product Development laboratory.  Also, to cover some basic compliance functions in the laboratory as required by the FDA, DEA or OSHA.

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

·         Responsible for general maintenance of the Product Development laboratory including:  washing analytical and formulation glassware and equipment, preparing reagents and basic daily or weekly equipment checks.

 

·         Responsible for the maintenance of the satellite hazardous waste (primarily organic solvents) stations.

 

·         Responsible for required equipment checks and limited calibrations on equipment such as refrigerators, desiccators, balances and pH meters.

 

·         Coordinate with laboratory personnel to assist in the maintenance of the Product Development controlled substance program.

 

·         Responsible for general laboratory maintenance and cleanliness.  Such duties may include simple equipment maintenance and monitoring of supply inventories.

 

·         Perform special projects as directed by the Manager or Chemists in Product Development.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

High School diploma required.  College or vocational science class laboratory experience preferred.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

The employee will be required to work with hazardous, corrosive, flammable, and noxious materials.  The employee is exposed to hot surfaces, electrical hazards, and flames; and is occasionally exposed to moving machinery and machine parts.
