One of the leaders in the Analytical Instrumentation in the Environmental Industry has an opportunity for an LABORATORY AND INDUSTRIAL REGIONAL SALES MANAGER For NC and SC. This company is part of a diversified technology leader that designs, manufactures, and markets innovative products and services with strong brand names and significant market positions. Job Purpose: The primary role of this position is to actively promote the company's products and services to a defined customer base within the assigned geographic territory of North Carolina and South Carolina. This is a HOME BASED OPPORTUNITY AND THE IDEAL LOCATION FOR THE CANDIDATE TO RESIDE IS RTP AREA OF NC, BUT OTHER AREAS IN NC OR SC WOULD BE CONSIDERED. Key Responsibilities: Perform all sales activities within an assigned geographic territory. Annually submits and implements a detailed sales plan identifying: sales objectives, sales opportunities, major customers, and regional shows to be attended during the following fiscal year. Participates in sales activities including: customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations and customer seminars. Maintain customer activity files. Assist in maintaining a mail list for customers in the assigned territory. Collects and reports information on all competitive activity within the assigned territory. Maintains assigned company automobile in a safe and operable condition at all times. Maintains a safe driving record and remain insurable by the company's insurance carrier. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Requirements: BA or BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Chemistry; Environmental Sciences or equivalent. Alternate science degrees will be considered. Instrumentation sales experience (two to five years) in similar products and services preferred. Must be a self-starter. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SalesLogix, and the Internet. Must be willing and able to travel within a defined region. Outstanding communication skills (oral, written and presentation). Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle concurrent projects. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers. Proven track record in outstanding sales performance. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
