Lab Technician IV - 3rd Shift
Job Summary:
This position requires being the lead to utilize results from research testing, create, modify, recommend and/or implement standard operating procedures and specifications for existing and new processes, product development and product quality testing. This individual will advise management and/or make decisions regarding process improvement, product performance, product formulations and total quality performance based on analyzed data and test experimentations. Duties include but are not limited to: Creating and implementing Standard Operation Procedures and specifications for new or existing processes; Performing and leading advanced research projects such as wick selection, wax consumption, fragrance selection, additives, innovation projects, database creation; Ensuring data bases such as Oracle and Laboratory specific databases are maintained and updated. In addition, the lab tech will assure the highest product performance and safety of the product through team and management interaction.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree or equivalent. Bachelors preferred 3 to 5 years of scientific field experience preferred or experience in related discipline. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills to accurately & succinctly report data and test results. Customer orientated and quality focused. Demonstrated flexibility, problem solving and organizational skills including strong attention to detail. Analytical skills and experience with process improvement essential. Ability to successfully prioritize one’s own work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Strong leadership/management skills including the ability to balance efficient and productive operations with effective administration Ability to utilize and calibrate various laboratory equipment such as a spectrophotometer, scales and digital camera Demonstrated ability to interact with coworkers in a positive, productive and cooperative manner encouraging teamwork required. Safety Awareness and thorough knowledge of Laboratory procedures. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong math skills Advanced level Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) and internet research.
Hours:
3rd Shift, Sunday - Thursday, 10:00PM - 6:00AM
Flexibility in work schedule is also required for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends and extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
