Job Purpose:
Prepare meals by providing food preparation expertise; promoting and providing quality food services that surpass expectations; managing kitchen staff.
Duties:
* Accomplish kitchen human resource objectives by ongoing training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; as well as overseeing kitchen maintenance; communicate job expectations with fellow employees; appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
* Be involved in meeting kitchen financial standards by being actively engaged in ensuring proper usage of supplies and materials; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
* Implements recipes and portion control by reviewing menus and product specifications with Executive Chef.
* Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with sanitation and federal, state, and local legal regulations; overseeing food preparation, safety, and security; reviewing and implementing accident and disaster plans.
* Maintains professional appearance.
