TITLE:

 

Jr. Purchasing Specialist

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Complete and send Request for Quotations (RFQ) to suppliers based on assigned commodities/suppliers/customers where a pre-defined source exists as needed.

 

Assist in analyzing and negotiating of supplier's proposals for new parts or repairs, within project budget and process purchase orders according to set procedures. 

 

Administrate and maintain purchase orders and change orders according to procedures.

 

Communicate engineering releases and engineering change notices to suppliers as needed. 

 

Liaise with engineering team as required. 

 

Coordinate with all departments regarding supplier related issues, including but not limited to parked invoices and receiving issues.

 

Provide information to Purchasing Manager and/or Sourcing Manager as appropriate to keep them informed of any critical issues with assigned suppliers.

 

Participate in group initiatives and/or Special Projects/assignments as required and/or directed.

 

Expediting delivery of all assigned components on a regular basis and communicate such to customer service/project as appropriate.

Maintain documented records for both internal and external communications as it relates to commercial issues. 

 

Update and maintain SAP with accurate delivery dates.

 

Deal with returns to suppliers, whether under warranty or due to faulty or incorrect goods received.

 

Monitor suppliers to meet quality and delivery requirements.

 

Ensure pricing from suppliers is received promptly and conforms to RFQ requirements.

 

Obtain information from functional departments.

 

Assist with identifying and locating required components for customers.

 

Ensuring customer requirements are satisfied effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

 

Maintaining the accuracy purchase orders in high volume.

 

Implementing and correcting processes to improve business operations.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor of Arts / Science (4 Year Degree), Preferred
