CTG has openings for Sr. Java Developers for a project in the Jackson, Mississippi area.  You would be required to be in Jackson for 50-75% of the time, then work from your home location.  This is a long term project.  Any travel expenses for this project are reimbursed based on receipts and NOT a part of the pay rate.  This project is expected to be at least 18 months in duration.

LEAD JAVA DEVELOPER

 

Major Responsibilities / Activities –

 

Develops new and maintains Web applications in accordance with supplied patterns.
Assist in database design as necessary for new development tasks.
Develops Web software systems that promote effective information transfer between business systems.
Assist in designs and develop internet/intranet software applications.
Proactively identifies and implements methods of preventing technical problems that could cause disruption to business activities.
Monitors and ensures the continuing effectiveness of in-place systems.
Performs systems and business function analysis in support of business areas.
Performs unit testing to ensure effectiveness in meeting business needs.

 

 

General Web Development Requirements:

Must be able to analyze business functions, determine business needs, and translate into systems requirements appropriately.
Must be able to identify and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Must be able to be on-call during after-business-hours as needed.

 

 

Job-Specific Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field is required or equivalent experience.

 5+ years experience in object oriented programming environment. 
7+ years of full development life cycle experience.
5+ years experience using Java, and SQL.
2+ years experience using J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, JDBC, XML, and EJB. AJAX is a big plus.
Experience using STRUTS framework.
Experience using WSAD and Websphere preferred.
Experience using design patterns preferred.
Experience with modeling using Rational Rose preferred.
Experience with UNIX and Visual Basic preferred.
