The ProSource Group is currently working directly with Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) to assist them with some of their high-priority requirements.   You will be applying for a direct, full-time position with SOE.

SOE is looking for Java developers to join a growing team in the Platform group. The Platform group is the major internal support department for Sony Online Entertainment LLC. This group is responsible for creating and maintaining the entire suite of Sony Online websites plus the interfaces that connect Sony Online games.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer is responsible for design and implementation of interactive web-based services that includes marketing sites, commerce storefronts, registration and account management applications, player and auction services. The Software Engineer is heavily involved in creating and maintaining Java code and provides component level designs for SOE’s network platform. The candidate must have experience in developing Java based applications on both Windows and Unix (Linux) platforms.

Requirements:

BS degree in computer science or equivalent 5+ years programming experience in JavaExperience with Java Application Server and web UI development Dynamic, high-load web development experience Experience using source control and bug tracking systems in a team environment Programming experience with SQL.Familiarity with Velocity, Eclipse, SWT, Tomcat, ANT, Hibernate, Spring, Jabber, and other open source technologies a plus Experience developing applications on Unix/Linux platforms is a plus

 

Additional Attributes:

Experience in full life-cycle software development.Experience in object-oriented analysis and design.Experience building scalable systems with high levels of concurrency and transactions.Experience with XML, XMPP and SOAP or web services.
