Finance Manager Jack Daniels
Basic Function
Responsible for timely and accurate financial analysis (both quantitative and qualitative) of all capital spending, investment base and financial accounting, including prior, current and future years. Participate in special projects, training and presentation activities. A key function of this position will be cross training within the Finance department specifically within the governmental compliance, costing and analysis functions.
Responsibilities
Utilize Brown-Forman systems, including Business Warehouse, SAP and Excel to retrieve, display, input, gather, produce and analyze financial information.
Assist JD Engineering with preparation and presentation of capital approval requests.
Update and present to management production statistics and key performance indicators.
Maintain and improve system of internal controls through regular reviews and process modifications as needed.
Work directly with cost center managers to determine budgets and projections. This includes requesting, receiving and analyzing appropriate information. Must understand each department’s function and provide recommendations as necessary.
Assist with financial accounting, reporting and analyses activities associated with distillery and bottling operations. This includes month and year-end accounting and closing activities, account analysis and reconciliations. Interpret and explain unusual variances to management
Participate in special projects to conduct research and implement process improvements and system automation. Roles may include business lead or team member as required.
Requirements
A Masters degree with 8+ years experience in advanced financial and analytical roles or related field or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with 10+ years related experience in similar disciplines.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of SAP
Experience in Cost Accounting
CPA or CMA designations
Skills required
Mastery of Accounting and Financial Analysis. Experience in the areas of general and cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, capital and production accounting.
Oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly relay information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
The ability to work independently and fulfill commitments within specified deadlines.
