IT Security Analyst
Merrillville, IN or Columbus, OH
Purpose:
The IT Security Analyst’s primary focus is to administer NiSource IT security policies and procedures specific to the security of critical infrastructure systems, working in close coordination with other NiSource and outsourced personnel. This position is responsible for monitoring the security, change control, and threat analysis activities of critical networks and their service provider. Additionally, this position will provide on-site IT security and information management capabilities. This individual will conduct, review, and assess the security of these critical systems in an ongoing capacity.

· Timely and effective response to customer requests with the ability to manage expectations and provide superior customer support
· Consistent execution of security standards and processes
Essential Responsibilities:
· Assess, recommend, and approve the security posture of perimeter devices, network infrastructure, remote access implementations, and patch management processes
· Respond to security breaches, incidents, and outbreaks in concert with NiSource management and outsourcer
· Monitor the security processes to ensure regulatory compliance and overall security posture
· Support NiSource management with IT related litigation, ethics, HR, or other requests when needed
· Maintain proper change management anaylsis and approval for infrastructure operations
· Coordinate the efforts of the Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT)
· Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning, development, exercises, and events
Selection Criteria:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 2-3 years experience in an IT security role
· Expert knowledge in use of various IT security tools
· Demonstrated expertise in information management and security principles and processes
· Familiarity with regulatory compliance, including NERC CIP
· Excellent planning, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
· Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
· The ability to work with minimal supervision, and operate effectively in a dynamic environment
· The ability to operate in a confidential environment
· IT security core competencies including expertise in two or more of the following areas: intrusion detection (IDS), firewalls, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, incident response, or patch management
Preferred for selection:
· IT outsourcing experience
· Relevant certifications including CEH, CISSP, etc
· Experience in the Energy or Utility industry, experience supporting critical infrastructure operations in a 24x7 environment, experience supporting systems subject to regulatory compliance requirements, or experience with FERC, NERC, RFC or MISO
