Manages information technology implementation at the SLC and supervises highly skilled professional staff. Coordinates technical and personnel resources to accomplish the information technology needs of the SLC. Sets overall direction and manages the development, technical support and computer operations effort to create and maintain the systems required to meet the SLC’s business needs. Responsible for all technical, administrative and policy aspects pertaining to complex computer hardware and software management.Responsible for the overall integrity and sound design of systems and business procedures and for creating both long and short-term Information Systems plans.Evaluates, recruits, guides and supervises highly skilled professionals.Responsible for system design, development and maintenance of complex computer systems implemented utilizing the OIT Systems Development Methodology.Resolves problem situations and anticipates non-standard events and takes measures to continue service during these events and recovers missing or corrupted data.Responsible for the automation of the audit and control of inventory.Acts as the IT liaison between all agency and OIT managers and staff. Facilitates OIT inter-divisional information exchange to maintain continuity of information systems in support of agency business objectives. Responsible for managing the IT budget and execution of IT purchase requests relating to hardware, software and other miscellaneous IT products and services on all department platforms.Interfaces with all levels of management to ensure proper application of information technology activities.Assigns work or projects to software development staff based on priority, staff skills and availability.Analyzes existing business processes and workflows as they relate to information processing systems and procedures.
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Nine years of experience in information technology or data management, four years of which shall have been in a management capacity. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of computer operations involving a substantial remote network. Extensive technical knowledge associated with the support of substantial production systems, which operate virtually on a non-stop basis. Knowledge of the requirements and operation typical of a large, remote point-of-sale network.
Extensive and detailed technical knowledge of systems analysis and methods, computer programming and an up-to-date knowledge of the computer industry in general. Knowledge of business procedures and methods employed by the wholesale/retail industry.
