This seasoned architect will be involved in the planning, assessment, design, and implementation of architectural standards, strategies and technology roadmaps for Third Party.
Responsibilities:
Provide business and IT teams technical consultation for application development, methodologies, integration, and productivity issues. Act as a consultant to Project teams to promote standards and best practices. Ensure new initiatives are consistent with existing data structures and standards or that adequate rationale for exceptions is determined, vetted, and communicated. Ensure new solution addresses the reliability, performance and scalability required. Assist in defining strategic global architecture. Keep abreast of industry and peer technology trends and best practices. Monitor and review design specifications for consistency with standards and prior to implementation to Production ensuring compliance to quality assurance and security/operational requirements. Design and document standards in partnership with subject matter experts. Demonstrating expert knowledge to reflect Investment Systems as the best choice to clients to design and build solutions. Build credible relationships with business partners, team members and IT peers to promote Architecture roadmaps, goals, processes and tools.

College or University degree in computer science, information systems, business, mathematics, engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant technology experience is required. In-depth understanding of strategic business objectives combined with broad industry knowledge of investment products, market practices and securities operations. Ability to identify the correct architectural model to meet business needs. Knowledge of investments industry, finance, compliance, risk and regulatory requirements Must have in-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle, database management, ETL, and end-user tools. Must possess strong analytical skills with proven experience in performing complex business and technical assessments. Must have experience in Data Warehousing, Operational data stores or data marts. Proven capability in initiating, motivating, and managing change effectively. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Must be able to communicate with people at many knowledge levels. Strong process orientation, use of best practices, standards, and guidelines. Must be versed at maintaining document templates to enforce standards. Must be an expert in Visio and proficient in many diagramming/modeling notations (e.g., context definition, server topology, system interaction, process model, etc.). Data Modeling skills (nice to have). Experience in integrations/conversions among system platforms as a result of mergers/acquisitions. Knowledge of packaged solutions from Eagle, Charles River, Portia, Bloomberg. Experience in exploiting newer and/or leading edge technology to meet specific business needs. Experience in vendor management and maintenance of RFI, RFP, SOWs. Canadian Securities course is (asset). Attributes:
