A Publicly held savings institution in Northeastern Ohio is looking for an Investment Manager. With an asset total of over $3 billion, this bank continues to grow and has future growth in mind. The Investment Manger will be responsible for preparing, executing and reporting on investment strategies for the investment portfolio of the Bank under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer. The successful Candidate must have Corporate Investment experience.

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Business

 

5 years Minimum work experience in a financial position

 

Investment experience and knowledge of Bloomberg

 

Knowledge of a variety of investments including but no limited to government bonds, structured securities, municipal bonds and all types of mortgage-backed securities

 

Ability to use software products including spreadsheets, database and investment software

 

Knowledge of National economic market activity on a daily basis

 

General Banking knowledge

  

Responsibilities:

 Regular monitoring the investment portfolio and formulating appropriate strategies to contribute to the achievement of the Bank’s liquidity and profitability objectives

 

Work with the CFO to develop specific plans to achieve the investment strategies and executing those plans by executing purchases, sales and pledges

 

Develop appropriate reporting mechanisms to communicate investment activity to Management, ALCO and the Board of Directors

 

Have comprehensive knowledge of and compliance with the Bank’s Investment, Asset Liability and Liquidity policies. Periodically recommending and drafting changes to those policies

 

Executing wholesale funding strategies

 

Management of the pledging of securities to secure public fund deposits, customer deposits, repurchase agreements and pledges of investments to the FHLB and Federal Reserve Bank

 

Support the investor relations function

 

Complete types of financial analysis including interest rate risk, credit risk, peer analysis and acquisition analysis, related to the investment portfolio and wholesale funding function

 

Demonstrate integrity and professionalism when dealing with investment brokers on behalf of the bank

 

Maintain up to date knowledge of national economic market activity on a daily basis to facilitate optimal execution of investment and funding alternatives.

 

Engage in regular interaction with other individuals within the bank who work on daily investments and borrowings, public funds deposits, and accounting for investments.

 

Communication of investment objectives and activities to senior management may be required

 

Have significant interaction with organizations outside the bank in order to obtain market information and execute transactions

 

Make decisions to execute purchases and sales of investments based on specific strategies approved by the CFO

 

Weigh the attributes of individual investments in order to limit risk, maximize returns and comply with established policies
