My client(s) are currently looking to add a number of roles within their Investment Operations Group; they have a number of openings for individuals with relevant experience ranging from 1-10 + years. They currently manage assets in the following classes; fixed income, equities, commercial backed / asset backed, private securities and various other derivative based hybrid instruments, if you have relevant experience within these product groups please see below for further job details and requirements.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

-          Provide support / guidance for the aforementioned products as it relates to the accounting and finance operations, more specifically: fund accounting, internal & external (SEC) reporting and analysis, regulatory research and planning, project management / leadership across relevant asset and business lines while focusing heavily in process / project improvements and client satisfaction

-          Accounting for various complex derivative instruments (Options, CAPS, Swaptions, and various ABS classes), provide support and guidance on GAAP treatment as well as guidance as it relates to the assets positions and hedging strategies.

-          Daily P&L and VaR calculations

-          Conduct monthly analysis of LIBOR, treasury, and foreign exchange rates on current derivative portfolio

-          Ability and willingness to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously

-          Prepare analysis pertaining to cash flow and assets fair value

-          Monthly reporting for hedging activity on a IFRS and US GAAP basis

-          Participate in implementing Fair Value Option accounting for US GAAP (SFAS 159) and research / extensive knowledge as it relates to FAS 133

-          Manage the research and resolution of work conditions associated with trade settlement and collections, review the reconciliation of investment accounts to the general ledger and treatment for complex instruments

-          Experience in developing process improvements and leading / participating in project initiatives, strong work ethic and ability to function within a team oriented environment

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

-          1-10 (1-3 for associate level, 3-5 for senior associate, 6-8 for manager and 10+ for senior manager / director level) years of relevant experience as it relates to operations and accounting treatment (GAAP) for complex financial instruments (FAS 133, SFAS 159) and their related reporting both internally & externally (SEC)

-          Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, preferably an Master’s degree of related discipline with a professional certifications such as CPA, CFA etc

-          Solid leadership and project management skills, process improvement experience, ability to function within / across all levels of the organization, “big picture” mentality

-          Advanced - PC skills - proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the ability to learn and work with multiple applications simultaneously, experience in investment accounting and statutory reporting required
