Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the highest inventory accuracy within multiple distribution centers. This entails (1) ensuring that operational procedures ( receiving, shipping, cycle counting, etc )are executed as designed to fulfill the highest levels of inventory accuracy at the location level; (2) managing processes which fall outside traditional shipping and receiving operations (e.g., allocations, vendor returns, product transfers, store returns, etc.) which directly impact the physical inventory; (3) receiving paperwork audits to reduce vendor paybacks and promote department accuracy.

Job Responsibilities:

Recognize signs of operational problems (e.g., wrong product in slots, high shrink, receiving errors, lift errors) and provide detailed action steps required of DC management to correct them. Ensure the cycle count program is executed as designed, is consistent and accurate. This includes (but is not limited to aisle audits and special counts for high value items.) Success in this area is achieved when these counts and the corresponding system entries are performed thoroughly and accurately, and provide benefit to the overall operation.Ensure product rotation standards are maintained. Variances to established procedures are to be elevated to warehouse mgmt immediately.Validate the accuracy of product transferred from facility to facility with C & S and from outside storage warehouses. Work to insure accurate and timely reconciliations occur.Oversee the release of product to vendors, other DC’s, and corporate locations, including inventory accuracy, correct paperwork, and efficient loading. Reduce the potential for shrink related to product releases from C & S warehouses.Supervise staff that processes store credits, store returns, and damages.Ensure all paperwork associated with each job function in the DC, (e.g., handbills, r-bill, IL’s , PO’s, transfers, etc) is accurate and timely. Research and resolve all discrepancies noted.Handling requests from procurement, other facilities and corporate.Provides ongoing training to IC staff.Processes payroll, reports temporary labor expenses.

Job Requirements:

BS in related degree preferred or the equivalent combination of related experience and training.3-5 years direct warehouse supervision or inventory control work experience. Knowledge of DC operations, warehouse management systems and inventory management.Computer skills. Quantitative background with strong mathematical skills. Project management.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
