Job Summary:
Manager will ensure all inventory sourcing activities will result in the best cost for the required level of quality material, received on-time and that all materials received are accurately inventoried.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):
Manage and maintain inventory planning, forecasting and purchasing for all divisions of the business in accordance with Company objectives and forecasts. Facilitate and control the movement of product with outside vendors or internally and maintain proper controls to assure the accuracy of inventory. Properly plan, forecast and assist in new product development to assure timeliness of launch dates. Assure purchasing is completed from approved/qualified vendors using formal and controlled purchase orders with clear and complete specifications of the materials to be purchased and assuring the timely receipt of all goods. Assure purchasing costs are reasonable by negotiating prices and terms, analyzing quotations and qualifying vendors based on cost, quantity and delivery timelines. Maintain quality control for all incoming raw materials & finished goods and assure the products are accurately recorded per established accounting standards. Maintain policies and procedures to assure the accurate costing of all inventory items and properly create and maintain all bills of materials and the MRP and EDI systems. Forecast and schedule all in-house production. Assure the proper registration of goods for International distribution. Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in complying with all vendor requirements for labeling and shipping of product. Distribute timely reports to inform Management regarding the adherence to established goals and objectives both from a Sales perspective and inventory level. Facilitate and maintain cycle count procedures to assure the accuracy of inventory levels. Establish realistic timeframes for sourcing products and establish low level reports based on lead times. Recommend and establish guidelines for the liquidation of slow moving products or products that should be discontinued.
Skills:
Must possess solid analytical skills in forecasting inventory and production needs and inventory planning Excellent organizational skills Must be proficient in use of software applications including Word/Excel/Outlook/MRP/EDI Articulate and strong leader capable of managing the day to day activities of Inventory Management, Vendor negotiations and material procurementEducation/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Business preferred or related field with minimum 5 years experience inventory purchasing planning and management.
