Job Description:
Deter, identify, monitor, and investigate computer and network intrusions in support of our government customer in Las Vegas, NV. Responsible for developing training, researching trends and countermeasures in computer/network vulnerabilities, exploits, and malicious activity. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with computer network security techniques and best practices. The technical focus will be on the monitoring and analysis of large, dispersed, and complex network and information systems. Daily activities include:
· Monitoring and analysis of network and IDS information
· D ocumenting incident resolutions and communicating with all appropriate parties
· Log analysis, reporting, and alerting
· Identifying suspicious/malicious activities
· Identifying and tracking of malicious code
· Coordinating teams for response to security incidents
Required Skills:
· Two years of Intrusion Detection experience
· Must be willing to work various shifts in a 24x7 environment
· Detailed knowledge of monitoring IDS sensors and other data sources
· Strong knowledge of networking
· Strong knowledge of incident resolution and handling
· Strong knowledge of common vulnerabilities
· M ust have an understanding of incident handling
· K nowledge of incident analysis and investigation
· K nowledge of alarm investigation and validation
· Familiarity with various network analysis tools
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Excellent customer service skills
Qualified applicants must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Required Education :
BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
Desired Skills :
· Experience with SIM technologies
· Specialized training in intrusion analysis
