The newly formed Paid Search Center of Excellence is responsible for driving eBay’s paid search, keyword-based marketing activities with the primary search engines such as Google or Yahoo! for eBay’s international markets.
This Center of Excellence is part of the International Marketing team, whose mission is a) to develop global operating efficiencies by creating scale economies, b) drive best practice sharing across international markets and c) build global infrastructure solutions.
The Search Engine Marketing Specialist will be part of the Center of Excellence Team and be responsible for planning, executing and analyzing creative tests to optimize Paid Search advertisements for 6-8 international eBay markets.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Analyze marketing campaign performance to identify, prioritize and execute on opportunities for improvement in marketing effectiveness
• Work independently and with the brand team to develop creative messaging to test across various market & search engines
• Monitor test performance and analyze test results to identify high value opportunities for optimization
• Make recommendation and implement best performing creative
• Share results and impact of testing with the team
• Expand to additional countries utilizing best practices developed from previous campaigns
• Share accountability for meeting Paid Search marketing team’s aggressive revenue and efficiency targets.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with demonstrated strong academic and professional performance. The position requires someone who is highly analytical, organized and detail-oriented with ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, engineering, economics or a related discipline.
• 2-3 years work experience, ideally in Internet or e-commerce related field.
• Aptitude to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive towards results.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and innovatively.
• Strong analytical skills required to identify performance opportunities or issues and root causes.
• Highly effective communication skills to work with both internal eBay teams and external marketing partners
• Fun, energetic and collaborative personality.
• Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
• Relevant search marketing work experience highly desired.
