Position Summary:  Reporting to the Treasurer & Director of Tax, will be responsible for planning and directing the preparation and filing of all international tax returns to minimize corporate liability and to ensure compliance. This position will require international travel.  Must also be flexible with work hours, particularly during acquisitions and other special projects. 

 

Job Responsibilities:      

 

1. Direct the planning, preparation and filing of all International tax returns

2. Direct and manage International tax audits and administrative appeals

3. Provide guidance and direction on International tax issues

4. Participate in corporate planning efforts to minimize International taxes and ensure compliance

5. Participate in tax department quarterly and year-end deferred tax accounting calculations and tax provision proofs

6. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of both existing and proposed international tax laws, regulations, and court decisions, as well as, their application to proposed and consummated transactions and communicate corporate impact to management as requested

7. As a team member, will need to assist in any area as needed including preparation of the corporation tax return

8. Perform full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA, performance management, department budget

9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

10. Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley processes; FAS 109 and FIN 48 requirements

 

COMPETENCIES

Job Skills Requirements: 

Thorough knowledge and understanding of corporate international tax laws, regulations, and the accounting ramifications, as well as accounting for income taxes.  Must be able to exercise independent judgment with regards to the application of tax law to effectively minimize liabilities, risks, and exposures.  Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex tax issues.Strong analytical skills, decision making, and organization skills in relation to managing multiple, complex projects with tight deadlines.Ability to exercise sound judgment in supporting and consulting with the group/business unit and/or guiding and directing the work of the Tax team.Maintain positive working relationships with internal/external customers.  Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with and clearly present complex material and recommendations to diverse audiences.  .  Participate and/or manage other continuous improvements projects.Strong computer literacy, especially with MS Office Suite and ERP systems like SAP.

 

Education Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMasters of Taxation Degree preferred.Must have current CPA license.

 

Experience Requirements:

·         Minimum of 10 years experience in Tax 

·         Public accounting experience desirable 

·         Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a manufacturing environment 

·         Prior management experience preferred
