Responsibilities:

Genentech is currently seeking an Internal Investigator to handle matters related to enforcement and compliance within the healthcare industry. This includes, but is not limited to, compliance with laws enforced by the Food and Drug Administration, Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Justice and State Attorney Generals and various agencies.


Under the direct supervision of a licensed attorney, and/or in collaboration with other company compliance functions, the Investigator will be responsible for independently, or as a team leader, conducting compliance investigations/reviews. The incumbent will develop strategies for the investigation data collections and analyses, and investigate, or coordinate the investigation, of a variety of kinds of evidence, including witness interviews, business records and other official documents. The investigator will prepare and coordinate the preparation of complex case documentation to fully support findings, as well as prepare comprehensive, clear and persuasive investigative reports and letters of findings. Cases may involve disputed facts, unclear legal or administrative precedents, large volumes of data and need for sophisticated analysis. This position will provide objective and professional evaluations of commercial compliance activities and processes and actively participate in compliance reviews/audits as needed. The successful candidate will maintain compliance program documentation, including proactively updating audit standards and guidelines, as well as recommending and/or assisting in implementing changes to GPP. This position will also assist with all other compliance-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

The candidate must have a J.D. or relevant legal training, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in specific role(s) related to pharmaceutical compliance. The candidate must also have experience with internal monitoring processes, including monitoring risk within business units and identifying risk indicators. Demonstrated competency in working with all levels of management is required. Interpersonal and conflict management skills must be evident. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are essential to this role.
