Safety-Kleen has an immediate opening for a Internal Audit Manager in Plano, TX. This position will be reporting to the Vice President, Internal Audit, the Operations / Compliance Manager, Internal Audit is responsible for driving operational and compliance based audits assigned by the Vice President, Internal Audit. Serves in a leadership capacity and oversees a team of associates. Encourages the development of proper work methodology, technical skills, project management and career development.
This person will be responsible for performing control risk assessments, determining annual work program plan, managing staff and consulting resources to conduct projects, working closely with management of the audited areas to help bring about positive change, communicating through meetings and written reports with senior management and on status of efforts and key risks. Prepares and reviews work papers to document work procedures and work conclusions, performs follow-up reviews to verify that necessary corrective actions have been successfully implemented.
Responsibilities:
§ Supervise Staff and Senior Auditors, including assistance in developing audit procedures and techniques to effectively perform timely audits
§ Encourage new ideas and ways to use current technologies and procedures
§ Review and provide feedback on work programs, reports, and work papers prepared by Senior and Staff Auditors
§ Participate in resource allocation for the department
§ Lead and train teams on operational and compliance testing, while partnering with senior management and business owners to identify and test controls
§ Participate in frequent communication with customers to develop relationship building
§ Develop career path for staff and prepare them for Company leadership positions
§ Foster a high integrity atmosphere, treating all associates with respect, keeping confidences, and ensuring that diversity is accepted and facilitated within the department
§ Work with other Audit Managers in developing cross-training programs
§ Stay informed of current industry best practices and learn to apply new techniques
Requirements:
§ Bachelor’s Degree (i.e., Business, Management, Accounting, Engineering)
§ CIA required; M.B.A and/or Certified Environmental Auditor are significant pluses
§ Minimum 6+ years of recent audit experience working within a public company
§ Strong familiarity with ISO 14001, 19011 and IIA Standards
§ Environmental Audit experience a strong plus
§ Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a challenging and dynamic environment; self-directed and ability to work independently.§ Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
§ Excellent organizational, analytical, project management and follow-up skills
§ Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
§ Lead staff, including motivation and development
§ Develop staff audit and accounting expertise
§ Successfully delegate responsibilities and decision-making
§ Ability to travel at times with short notice, up to 30%
