The primary roles of the Integration/System Tester are:
· Responsibility for the creation of the following documents: integration, system test plan and cases — both manual and automated, regression, load, stress, and possibly user acceptance testing (UAT) of a financial application and a 2nd application.
· Ability to work well with management, outside vendors, business analysts, configuration management team, testers, and developers to create a robust, quality-instilled system that meets end-user requirements.
· Develop scripts into an automated process that can be executed repetitively in different system environments.
· Modify existing test scripts and / or create automated tests from existing ones.
· Create and execute manual and automated test cases.
· Be able to transition testing knowledge of each project to a maintenance team.
As the party responsible for many testing activities of the financial project, the Integration/System Tester will create and execute test documentation. They will interact with different teams throughout the organization, including the following: business analysts, vendors, developers, configuration management, production support engineers and management.
The Integration/System Tester will perform the following tasks:
· Develop application-related business (financial, budget, and procurement) test plans and cases including the execution of the test cases in the following environments: integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing for the project.
· Document and report testing defects, including the follow through on correction and retesting.
· Attend project-related meetings and walkthroughs to obtain data to continually add information to the test plan and cases.
· Work closely with the business analyst to ensure robust requirement documents are created to obtain accurate and precise requirements.
· Work with vendors, business analysts, developers, configuration management to develop and test applications for the project.
· Adhere to and appropriately enforce SDLC and system testing processes and methodologies in development, system testing, and UAT environments including all application tiers (application/web server, database server, and mainframe).
· Perform maintenance testing as well as train other testers on testing applications.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Strong hands-on experience testing in a web-based environment.
· Hands-on testing experiences with financial management systems strongly desired.
· Thorough understanding of what is needed to create accurate test cases from requirements with demonstrated business analysis skills is preferred.
· Basic understanding of testing methodologies and SDLC lifecycles.
· Strong hands-on experience of testing on the web, J2EE, and MVS environments preferred.
· Hands-on ability to execute SQL or SPUFI queries against DB2 tables is desired.
· Familiarity and use of defect tracking tool(s) — ClearQuest and TeamTrack is desired.
· Working knowledge of Excel is required and MS Access is preferred.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision required.
· Ability to plan, manage time, and provide status updates required.
· Ability to quickly resolve issues with “out of the box” thinking.
· Must be able to be self-motivated and be able to handle or mitigate problem situations.
Experience:
· Three years accounting system testing in any industry.
· Excellent English language oral and writing skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
· Complex applications testing on web, J2EE (optional), MVS, and AIX (or Unix).
Education:
BA in MIS, Computer Science, or related field from a recognized college or university or equivalent work experience.
