INTAKE/CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST NEEDED

 

Since 1991, LCG Holdings, including Nucleus Solutions, Disability Management Alternatives and Workers Transition Network, has delivered significant, measurable results for a technology-driven approach to managing all forms of employee absence, including incidental absence, disability and productivity.  LCG continues to expericen solid growth in all locations (Connecticut, Illinois, New York, Virginia and Washington State) and we are currently seeking INTAKE/CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALISTS in our Farmington, CT. 

The Primary Purpose of an LCG Intake/Custmer Service Specialist is to:

Coordinate the initial, telephonic intake of first report of disability claim by conducting extensive telephonic interviews with disabled employees and/or their employers. Intake Specialists are disability claim professionals responsible for gathering pertinent medical, financial, and eligibility information and to also provide on-going, comprehensive customer service. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

As the first point of contact for many of our clients this position requires superior customer service skills. Interaction with client companies, claimants, and, on occasion, health care providers. Very strong verbal communication skills necessary to effectively obtain confidential information, set claim process expectations, and answer client questions, all in a professional and courteous manner.

 

Ability to bring problems to resolution within scope of authority, while bringing others to the attention of management. Daily relationship management with clients and key contacts.

 

Verbal communication skills and analytical abilities necessary to complete initial interview, verify demographics, verify plan eligibility, and gather additional information to assist in the process of assigning the claim into the appropriate claim management track within our claim model. 

 

Heavy telephonic and written communication skills required to interact with claimants, employers, attending physicians, and other sources necessary to implement disability claims. Resolve inconsistencies in information provided during the initial interview process. Strong verbal and written communication skills that effectively explain the disability claim process and set forth expectations to claimants and employers.

 

Ability to work independently and in a team setting, strong organizational skills, time management and follow through are essential.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE/APPLICATION/IMPACT:

 

Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of short term disability (STD) claim administration practices and principles, including medical terminology, and general disability contract principles. 2-3 years of disability claims review or case management preferred.  Very strong verbal and written communication skills required.  Intake Specialists have a direct impact on the overall LCG performance. The position directly influences customer’s perception of our services and capabilities.  Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
