The Insurance Support Specialist provides insurance support to the dialysis facilities to help retain patients. The specialist is also responsible to provide guidance and information to patients on insurance and the implication of different insurance options allowing the patient to make informed insurance decisions. The Insurance Support Specialist's focus will include ensuring that commercial insurance patients’ questions are addressed and resolved; securing secondary coverage for Medicare No Secondary patients; and assisting underinsured and uninsured / pending coverage patients with eligibility and / or coverage options.

 

The Insurance Support Specialist is required to provide accurate and timely patient, revenue and treatment trend reporting using computer programs and other systems available within DaVita.

 

This position will require 50-75% travel with in your LOCAL region. This is a med-level position.  

Understanding and experience with commercial insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity) - RequiredStrong foundation in Medicare and Medicaid insurance coverageExperience in a healthcare organization working with clinical staff and patients preferredExcellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through Strong, proven interpersonal, and written communication skills Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and the ability to multi-task effectively Effective problem solving skills Ability to provide multi-level reporting and communication Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint) Personal values in line with DaVita’s values of Service Excellence, Integrity, Team, Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Fulfillment & Fun

Travel will be required to facilities in assigned territory (local) up to 75% of the time.
