Job Summary

The Insurance team is primarily responsible for managing all accounts that have a property damage claim against the vehicle.  This team works a specialized group of accounts ensuring claims are handled in a timely manner and Credit Acceptance?s interest is protected by ensuring Credit Acceptance is listed on any insurance checks that may be issued for repairs or total losses.  This involves direct communication with Insurance Companies, repair shops, tow yards, consumers and our Dealer Partners. 

 

The Insurance Manager provides day-to-day supervision and direction to Insurance Supervisors and Insurance Team Leaders and monitors productivity, performance, and ensures the Insurance Department achieves departmental and company-wide goals and objectives.  This position is accountable for the operational performance of both the Insurance and GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) teams and for the growth and development of the teams by fostering Great Place to Work principles and building a trusting work environment.  The Insurance Manager is also responsible for making sure team members have the necessary training and knowledge of both Insurance and Credit Acceptance policies and procedures and ensuring each team member follows compliance guidelines.  This position also needs to:

 

General Duties/Essential Functions:

q       Recruit, coach, and retain team members to meet optimal staffing levels.

q       Create programs, processes, and initiatives aimed at having a highly trained, productive workforce.

q       Develop processes that ensure all team members understand and work efficiently in all phases of claim processing.

q       Manage departmental and team member performance, including developing staff and dealing promptly and appropriately with underperformance.

q       Create and manage bonus compensation programs that motivate and retain team members.

q       Coordinate work with other departments/managers in an open and efficient manner.
