Koch Nitrogen Company and its affiliates own and invest in nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity in North America, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The company's fertilizer interests manufacture, market and distribute more than 6 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Nitrogen Company owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. These plants provide fertilizer to customers in Oklahoma, Kansas and the Midwest. Combined, Koch Nitrogen's fertilizer interests can produce about 6 million metric tons of nitrogen fertilizer annually.

Koch Nitrogen Company is seeking a motivated and self driven I&E Reliability Technician for anhydrous ammonia refrigerated storage terminals. The position is based in Garner, Iowa and includes some over-night travel to other terminals. The position responsibilities include performing installation, routine inspections, maintenance, trouble-shooting and calibration of the following equipment:
• Electronic controllers
• PLCs
• Motor starters
• Analog transmitter and switches
• Other instrumentation used in anhydrous ammonia storage, rail and truck terminal process


• Ability to climb stairs 
• Must be able to pass a pulmonary breathing test, wear a gas mask type respirator and full Level A PPE 
• Willing to work extended hours as required and be on a rotating 24-hr on-call schedule for nights and weekends 
• Ability to trouble-shoot complex electrical equipment, electronic and pneumatic control system 
• Mechanical aptitude or background 
• Knowledge of PSM, EH&S compliance, and anhydrous ammonia storage terminal operation or other industrial/chemical type facilities 
• Ability to understand procedures, process diagrams, safety & environmental risks associated with related handling, shipping, and storing anhydrous ammonia 
• Effectively communicate with managers, customers, and peers (verbal & written) 
• Associate Degree in Instrumentation and Electrical Technical field or equivalent experience 
• 2 years experience in industrial facility or equivalent background 

Preferred 
• Experience working with chemical shipping & storage equipment and the ability to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the equipment and ammonia refrigeration process 
• Extensive instrumentation controls/electrical technician background 
• PLC programming 
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook 
• 5 years experience in chemical/industrial facility
