Assists with the analysis, design, and development of technical training programs for various systems. Delivers technical training courses for military, civilian, international, and domestic customers. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assists in training system analysis, design, and development, including training and instructional requirements analysis, task and learning analysis, training technology assessment, media selection, and instructional media design. 2. Participates in training development teams to develop and produce instructional materials. Ensures instructional materials and courses are technically accurate, meet company and military specifications, and are completed on time and within budget. 3. Applies fundamental knowledge of Instructional System Development (ISD) principles and disciplines throughout the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases of training programs. 4. Instructs students (international and domestic) on the technical and theoretical aspects of a system at a variety of levels (e.g., novice to professional personnel). 5. Assists in the preparation of proposals, estimates, Statements of Work, cost comparisons, and project status. Participates in formal technical reviews. 6. Consults with design engineers to ensure that training considerations are incorporated into system design efforts. 7. Serves as technical consultant to field service personnel and customers to resolve technical issues related to systems failures. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required 1. A high level of educational development and/or professional level of knowledge normally acquired by completing a Bachelor?s degree in instructional technology, education, or a technical discipline. 2. Three years of related experience in instructional design and/or computer-based training to develop in-depth knowledge of various systems and technical instruction. A working knowledge of instructional systems design (ISD) principles and MIL-HDBK-29612 is strongly preferred. Certain positions may require specialized technical knowledge. 3. Analytical ability to collect and analyze data from diverse sources, design and develop courseware, and ensure technical accuracy. 4. Communication skills to develop courseware and provide classroom instruction. 5. Innovation to design/develop technical training solutions. Ideal candidates will have completed Navy Instructor Training school (obtained Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) 9502) and served as an instructor for the Mk 45 Mod 1 & 2 Gun Mount Operation and Maintenance course (Course Identification Number: A-113-1118). However, significant experience in either requirement (as a Navy Instructor or as a Mk 45 Gun technician) is a plus. Experience with Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) software and other gun systems including the Mk 38 Machine Gun System is also desirable. Security clearance may be required.
