Cargill Steel Service Centers has several offices strategically located to link high quality steel mills worldwide with consumption markets in the United States.

Our Mission
Establish and foster long-term international relations between the producing mill, the material processor, and the end consumer throughout the world's steel industry.  The inside sales representative is responsible for co-managing Cargill Steel Service Center customer accounts in partnership with the outside sales representatives.  This team works together to both enhance relationships with existing accounts, and generate new customers.  This position is the key contact for customers and serves as the communication link between customers and production facilities. The incumbent will work out of the East Chicago, IN facility. Office Locations:  Sales offices are located in; Houston, TX;  East Chicago, IN; Loudon, TN,  Nashville, TN; Memphis, TN; Tulsa, OK; and Panama City, FL. Career growth possibilities primarily include promotion to Outside Sales Representative and Sales Management.  Candidates must be open to relocation for initial and future assignments. Principal Accountabilities:Provide support services to maintain customer accounts by establishing relationships, clarifying needs, entering and expediting orders, managing the process with customers to accurately forecast needs, effectively work with clients in problem/resolution situations, and following up on customer claims and new product inquiries. Call customers proactively to investigate new opportunities and solicit orders. Budget time and activities according to account potential and develop strategies for territory accounts. Keep territory records such as forecasts, customer profiles, customer specs, purchase orders, and maintain a daily log of selling activities, price quotes and conversations with customers. Constant training and education is a focus, as sales representatives must be challenged to become steel industry and sales experts. Requirements: Associate’s degree Minimum of 2 years of related sales experience in the carbon flat steel processing industryPreferred:Bachelor’s degree preferred Strong communication skills-both written and verbal, interpersonal and leadership skills Intuition in anticipating customer’s market needs Self-motivated, analytical and problem solving skills Previous experience in carbon flat rolled steel processing industry, in the Chicago/Upper Midwest territory Ability to manage time, balance multiple tasks and constantly work with changing priorities Demonstrated ability to think and act independently, take initiative when appropriate Ability to be a team player Cargill, founded in 1865, is an international provider of food, agricultural and risk management products and services.
